Assessing and Treating Gambling Disorder in a Long-Term Residential Setting

Free 1 CE, In-Person Workshop!

FREE Workshop for Morris County Psychotherapist Network members! According to the American Gaming Association, Americans gambled $166B in 2025, up 11% from 2024, figures that don’t count illegal books and certain casinos that aren’t required to report. Per the National Council on Problem Gambling, only 15% of American adults age 21+ report being asked about their gambling behavior by a primary care provider. The presentation informs on gambling language, trends, research, assessment tools, supports, and best practices for treating gambling disorder. While not everyone can engage in a long-term residential treatment program, the presentation uses that lens to discuss how individuals can be provided structure and support sufficient to enter and engage in recovery from gambling.
