Partner With Shine Continuing Education
If you are a clinician, educator, treatment program, or professional organization interested in providing high-quality continuing education for social workers, we would love to hear from you.
Shine Continuing Education makes the process of developing and delivering continuing education programs efficient and straightforward. We welcome partnerships with qualified presenters and organizations throughout the United States.
This website provides information about our continuing education partnership services, outlines the materials needed to develop a CE activity, and allows prospective presenters and organizations to submit a course for potential partnership.
Interested in working with us? Complete the contact form below, and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss your program and next steps.
Our goal is simple: to make high-quality continuing education easier to develop, deliver, and access while maintaining the professional standards expected of social work continuing education.
“Jumana and Heather have been absolutely wonderful to work with! Teaching continuing education courses has been a longtime goal of mine and they made it possible through a seamless collaborative process. Together, we’ve been able to take my content and turn it into a valuable learning experience for so many therapists!”
Yes, We Can Partner With Professionals Across the United States.
Shine Continuing Education partners with clinicians, educators, treatment programs, and professional organizations throughout the United States to develop and offer high-quality continuing education for social workers.
As an ASWB Approved Continuing Education (ACE) provider, Shine Continuing Education can offer eligible programs for ASWB ACE continuing education credit. ACE continuing education is accepted by most U.S. social work licensing jurisdictions.
What About New York?
New York does not currently accept ASWB ACE approval for social work continuing education. Shine Continuing Education also maintains separate approval through the New York State Education Department (NYSED) State Board for Social Work, allowing us to offer qualifying continuing education to New York LMSWs and LCSWs in accordance with NYSED requirements.
This means presenters and organizations can partner with Shine to offer a program to a broad, nationwide social work audience without having to independently pursue ASWB ACE provider approval or New York State provider approval for the program offered through our organization.
And Yes, This Includes New Jersey
New Jersey amended its continuing education regulations effective April 15, 2024, to recognize programs and courses offered by providers approved by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB). This expanded the ability of ASWB ACE-approved providers to offer continuing education that may qualify for New Jersey social work CE requirements.
A Note About State Licensing Requirements
Continuing education requirements vary by jurisdiction. Even when a state social work board accepts courses offering ASWB ACE credit, individual licensees are responsible for determining whether a particular course meets the continuing education requirements of their licensing jurisdiction. State and provincial regulatory boards have final authority regarding acceptance of continuing education credit.

By partnering with Shine Continuing Education you can:
Eliminate the need to become an approved CE provider yourself. Offer qualifying continuing education programs through Shine without navigating the provider-approval process independently.
Bring your program to professionals more efficiently. Rather than waiting months to pursue independent provider approval, work with an established provider to prepare your educational activity for CE credit.
Reach a broader audience. Make your training more valuable and accessible to licensed social workers seeking continuing education credit, including eligible professionals in New York.
Simplify the CE process. Shine helps guide you through the requirements for course materials, learning objectives, instructor qualifications, evaluations, attendance, certificates, and other applicable CE documentation.
Create flexible options for conferences and multi-session events. Partnership can be particularly valuable for organizations offering multiple workshops, presenters, or educational sessions under one event.
Maintain high professional and educational standards. Shine reviews partnered programs to ensure they meet applicable ASWB ACE and/or NYSED continuing education requirements.
Focus on what you do best. We help manage the continuing education requirements so you can focus on delivering an engaging, meaningful learning experience.

We approach each course or conference as true partners from the planning stages through issuing certificates. Our services for one-off workshops, multi-session training, and professional conferences include:
Educational planning
Review of learning objectives
Presenter support
Registration management
Participant evaluations
Certificate issuance
Continuing education administration
-
We offer two flexible fee structures, allowing you to choose the option that works best for your program, organization, or event:
Flat-Fee Partnership: $400 per in-person CE program or $600 per virtual CE program.
Per-Certificate Partnership: A percentage-based fee determined by the number of CE certificates awarded to participants who successfully complete the program.
For organizations offering conferences, multiple sessions, or larger educational events, we are happy to discuss a customized partnership structure.
Why Partner Rather Than Apply Independently?
Organizations that are not ASWB ACE providers may apply directly to ASWB for individual course or conference approval. ASWB currently charges a $150 application fee plus $125 for each course or conference session submitted for review, and applications must be submitted at least 90 days before the program is offered. You are then responsible for providing the certificates, keeping record of attendance and communicating with attendees.
New York has a different process. NYSED does not approve individual social work CE courses submitted by organizations. An organization wishing to offer New York social work continuing education independently must apply to become an approved continuing education provider through the New York State Education Department. The current application review fee is $900, and submission of an application does not guarantee approval.
Partnering with Shine Continuing Education provides an alternative for organizations that want to offer qualifying social work continuing education without independently pursuing and maintaining CE provider approval. Shine works with you to review the program, address applicable CE requirements, and manage the continuing education process for programs offered through our partnership.

How Long Does the Continuing Education Partnership Process Take?
By partnering with Shine Continuing Education, you do not need to independently pursue provider approval before working with us to offer an eligible program for continuing education credit.
Before a program can be offered through Shine Continuing Education, our team reviews the course and works with you to ensure that the educational content, learning objectives, instructor qualifications, course materials, evaluations, and other required components meet applicable continuing education standards.
Our typical turnaround time for an initial course review is approximately one week. If revisions are needed, we will identify them and work with you to prepare the program for final approval through Shine.
How Does This Compare With Applying Independently?
Organizations seeking ASWB ACE individual course or conference approval must submit their applications well in advance of the program date. ASWB requires complete applications to be submitted at least 90 days before the course or conference begins.
Organizations wishing to independently provide continuing education to New York social workers must apply to become an approved provider through NYSED, rather than submitting individual courses for approval. NYSED advises organizations to submit provider applications at least 90 days before the date they plan to begin offering continuing education.
For organizations that do not want to pursue these approval processes independently, partnering with Shine provides a more streamlined pathway for developing and offering qualifying social work continuing education.
-
Upon completion of the workshop and evaluation, certificates will be issued via email within approximately three (3) business days.
-
No. By partnering with us, you are considered an instructor under Shine Continuing Education. We partner with you in the creation, planning, and promotion of courses regardless of if a Shine staff member is present for an in-person or virtual CE.
-
No, partial credit can not be given. Participation is required for the entirety of the workshop, even if it occurs over the course of multiple days. Conferences may require participation in all courses, or the entirety of each chosen workshop. Learners must sign in and out to provide proof of full attendance.
-
Cancellations received at least 7 days before the scheduled course or session are eligible for a refund. Refund requests received within 7 days of the program are generally not eligible for a refund; however, extenuating circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Refunds will not be issued solely because a participant later determines that the continuing education credit does not meet the specific licensing requirements of their jurisdiction.
