Jumana G. Murphy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor specializing in addiction, mental health, and clinical practice.
Prior to establishing her private practice, Jumana served as Clinical Outreach Manager at Freedom Institute, an outpatient substance use treatment center in New York City. Previously, she worked as Director of Substance Abuse Prevention Programs at Phoenix House, where she also facilitated relapse prevention and therapeutic process groups for adolescents and adults.
Jumana earned her Master of Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work. Throughout her career, she has worked across a wide range of clinical and community settings and with diverse populations, including adolescents and families, individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges, people with developmental and physical disabilities, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those involved with foster care and juvenile justice systems.
In private practice, Jumana's clinical work focuses on anxiety, depression, substance use and other addictive behaviors, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Her approach emphasizes helping clients better understand the patterns underlying their behaviors while developing practical coping skills and creating meaningful, sustainable change.
In addition to her clinical work, Jumana is committed to professional education and the development of relevant, engaging continuing education for social workers. Through Shine Continuing Education, she collaborates with clinicians, educators, treatment programs, and organizations to develop educational opportunities that strengthen clinical knowledge and practice.
Heather Claibourn, LCSW
Continuing Education Coordinator, Shine Continuing Education
Heather Claibourn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than two decades of experience in direct care, behavioral health systems, professional education, quality management, policy, and program implementation.
Throughout her career, Heather has worked extensively with individuals affected by complex developmental trauma, including adult children of families impacted by alcoholism and substance use. She has also trained social workers and other professionals in direct care, macro social work, policy, analytics, and evidence-informed decision-making.
Heather's experience extends beyond direct clinical practice to behavioral health systems and organizational leadership. She has led quality management teams, implemented statewide initiatives, and currently works with California county behavioral health systems at multiple levels.
Heather brings her clinical, educational, and systems-level experience to Shine Continuing Education, where she coordinates the continuing education program and helps support the development and review of high-quality educational programming for social work professionals.

Heather is a professional social worker and fitness trainer who has spent her career empowering people to achieve their goals. She has over two decades of direct care experience working with individuals who have complex developmental trauma including adult children of alcoholism. She has trained many other therapists in direct care, macro social work, policy, and analytics. With a passion for high-quality decision making, she has led quality management teams and implemented state-wide initiatives. She currently supports California county behavioral health systems at multiple levels and continues to support professional social work education by coordinating Shine Psychotherapy's continuing education program.
